Management changes in the Aerospace and Marine arms of ST Engineering

Singapore, 29 April 2010 – Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering) today announced the appointment of Mr Chang Cheow Teck as President of Singapore Technologies Aerospace Ltd (ST Aerospace). Mr Chang, 50, is currently the President of Singapore Technologies Marine Ltd (ST Marine). He succeeds Mr Tay Kok Khiang who will retire on 1 May 2010 after 17 years of service with the Group.
ST Engineering also announced the appointment of Mr Ng Sing Chan, 49, to the position of President, ST Marine. Mr Ng is currently the Deputy President and President, Defence Business of ST Marine. He succeeds Mr Chang who will relinquish his appointment as President of ST Marine. The appointments are effective 1 May 2010.
Mr Tay joined the Group in 1993 and has been President of ST Aerospace since July 2001. A Professional Engineer, Mr Tay is credited with charting the growth of the aerospace sector which today is recognised as the world’s largest commercial airframe maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) service provider. He has also diversified the sector’s businesses to become a leading aircraft engines and components power-by-the-hour and repair services provider, as well as a leader in engineering development capabilities. Under his leadership, ST Aerospace has developed a global MRO network with an extensive customer base.
Mr Chang has been with the Group since 1990 and he had spent 16 years of his career in the aerospace sector. He had held several senior management appointments within the Group including that of EVP Commercial Business, ST Aerospace; President, Vision Technologies Systems, Inc.; and President, Defence Business, Singapore Technologies Kinetics Ltd. As President, Special Projects, ST Engineering, Mr Chang was closely involved in identifying growth opportunities for the Group resulting in several acquisitions. He was appointed President of ST Marine in March 2008. Mr Chang graduated in 1985 with First Class Honours (Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering) from the National University of Singapore.
Upon graduation from the University of Hamburg, Germany with a Masters in Engineering, Mr Ng joined Singapore Shipbuilding & Engineering Limited (now ST Marine) in 1987 as an Engineer. He left in 1991 and later became the Deputy General Manager of Pan-United Shipyard Pte Ltd. He subsequently took on the positions of President of Changshu Xinghua Changjiang Dev Co and Executive Director of Pan-United Marine Ltd (now known as Drydocks World – Singapore Pte Ltd). Mr Ng re-joined the Group in March 2008 as EVP, Special Projects, ST Engineering and moved to ST Marine as Deputy President in April 2009. Mr Ng holds a Master of Business Administration (Finance & Banking) from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
